The man accused of murdering a South Auckland woman last month can now be named.
Ephraim Beazley did not enter a plea when he made a brief appearance in the High Court in Auckland this morning.
The 33-year-old's lawyer did not seek continued name suppression for Mr Beazley, meaning his identity can now be revealed.
Police were called to a house in Flatbush last month where they found 34-year-old Xi Wang unconscious with serious wounds.
She was taken to Middlemore Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Mr Beazley has been remanded in custody and will reappear in court in March.
