Police have released photos of baby clothes amid an ongoing search for the mother of a newborn found dead at an Auckland recycling facility.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard said some of the clothes were found in a blue plastic bag, including a child's beanie and sweater.
He said two baby onesies with colourful prints were found in the area.
Beard said while detectives can't fully determine whether the clothing is linked to the baby- anyone who recognises it should contact police.
A post-mortem carried out earlier this week determined the infant was likely a newborn, but her ethnicity was undetermined.
Earlier this week, Beard said police would not reveal specifics details of the post mortem findings, but it had caused them to have further concerns for the welfare and health of the baby's mother.
Beard said since the police appeal on Tuesday they had received very limited information.
