Hawke's Bay DHB says they are all students at Te Mata Primary School, and are being treated as if they have the Omicron variant.

Public health staff are following up a number of close contacts.

Te Mata school will remain open for on-site learning for those who are not impacted. Students and close contacts who are self isolating will have access to distance learning.

Anyone who has cold or flu like symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested and isolate until they receive a negative test result.

There were 188 new community cases today, 20 fewer than yesterday.
