There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding a body found on an East Auckland beach yesterday, police say.
A member of the public called police at 7.13am on Wednesday to say they had found a body on the beach at Ladies Bay, St Heliers.
Police are now making enquiries on behalf of the coroner.
Ladies Bay is described on the Auckland Council website as being a "private and isolated beach that isn't suitable for young people or families".
