A High Court judge says she will decide on a former All Black's appeal against a firearms conviction within two days.

Justice Dunningham heard the appeal from Andrew Hore this afternoon in the High Court in Dunedin.

Hore, who is 37, was convicted last week of supplying a shotgun to an unlicensed person, Daniel Parker, during a duck-shooting trip in Central Otago in May.

Parker, who was also convicted, was shot in the arm later the same day when he and a gun fell out of the group's vehicle.

Hore argued his conviction was out of proportion for the offence because it could stop him travelling, including doing lucrative promotions connected with the Rugby World Cup.

But the crown said Hore didn't get diversion because of a previous firearms offence and because of what could be seen as his careless actions.
