There are no new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand and another significant cluster has now closed, the Ministry of Health has confirmed.
It has now been 19 days since New Zealand last reported a new case of Covid-19, on 22 May.
In a statement released this afternoon, the Ministry of Health said there were also no active cases.
On Monday, the Health Ministry declared the final remaining active case in New Zealand had recovered.
The person's case had been linked to the St Margaret's Hospital and Rest Home cluster in Auckland.
At midnight the same day the country moved to alert level 1, meaning that all restrictions on the size of gatherings and the need for social distancing were removed. The country's borders remain closed and everyone arriving at the border is now being tested whether or not they have symptoms.
- If you have symptoms of the coronavirus, call the NZ Covid-19 Healthline on 0800 358 5453 (+64 9 358 5453 for international SIMs) or call your GP - don't show up at a medical centre
The total number of confirmed cases remains at 1154. The combined total of confirmed and probable cases remains at 1504.
The number of recovered cases is still 1482.
There were also no additional deaths.
Nine significant clusters have now closed, an increase of 1 from yesterday, the ministry said.
The most recent closure is that of an Auckland community cluster.
The ministry said 2631 tests were completed yesterday, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 298,532.
NZ Covid Tracer app
An update to the government's NZ Covid Tracer app will be released this evening to provide more functions for users, the ministry said.
These will allow:
- users to choose to be notified if they've visited a venue at the same time as someone who subsequently developed Covid-19
- users can choose to send their digital diary to contact tracers if required
- there will be a vibrate mode when scanning QR codes to assist those who are visually impaired.
The ministry said the app will automatically update to include these features unless updates have been disabled on the user's phone.
