Philip Arps, 45, was jailed for sharing the video of the Christchurch terror attacks last year.

During his appearance at the Christchurch District Court this afternoon, Judge Stephen O'Driscoll imposed release conditions asked by the Department of Corrections.

They include GPS monitoring, not being allowed near where Muslims congregate, and no direct contact with the Muslim community.

He was also accused of sending letters of a violent nature from his prison cell.

Contents of letters and phone calls Arps made in prison have interim suppression.
